From
your Board and Committees!
President’s
Message I cannot believe that it is July
already. The board has been working hard
in the past few months to take a critical and careful look at how we as a
board operate and how we can best continue to move our congregation forward
in the future. Part of that process is the new
Mission Statement. We are eager to
hear from you about the proposal and whether you like it, hate it, or think
we should alter it … The Mission
Statement serves only as a first step, putting forth our guiding
principles. We are also working on
determining what goals fulfill these principles and how we can best achieve
those goals, and expend our energies, as a group. We are eager also to work on a longer
term plan for the Congregation. The
impetus for such a plan is the need to know where we are going with respect
to our physical space and the challenges that the current physical space
present to us. Some of you may
remember that we started this process several years ago. We are hoping that if we have a better idea
of who and what we want to be in ten years, we will be able to make
appropriate decisions about how we use the land behind the church and how we
make the church facilities better for everyone. If you have any thoughts about the
Mission Statement or what we should be considering in terms of longer term
goals, please talk to me or another board member. Your input is vital and valuable. Until next month, Nina Webb-Lawton June
