Stuffed Animal Sleepover

Although humans cannot gather at NUUC, stuffed animals still can (a huge thank you to our sister congregation in Palo Alto for this awesome idea)! There will be a Stuffed Animal Sleepover at NUUC the weekend of July 24-26. The sleepover will be chaperoned by Miss Merrily (NUUC Director of Puppet Ministries) and Mr. Chance Sloth, two very responsible long-time members, with support from Rev. Dr. Susan Ritchie. Rev. Ritchie will post photos of the stuffies’ activities to the NUUC facebook page all day on Saturday. The stuffed animals will do fun things all Saturday, spend the night, and be part of the worship service on Sunday morning. Be sure to watch the Sunday service to see your stuffie! (Dolls are welcome too!)

Registration: Please try to register your stuffed animal in advance, so we can have a name tag and provisions for them. Register by July 15, by clicking here.

Drop-off: Please place your stuffed animal in a sturdy bag (like a paper grocery bag) with their name and your name on it. Drop them off at the back of the church, by the porch, on Friday, July 24, between 5 and 7 p.m.. Please stay in your car and wait for Rev. Ritchie to come get the bag with your stuffie. Stuffies will then stay in quarantine overnight and start their fun on Saturday. If you have a stuffie who wants to participate but you can’t make the drop off time, just email minister@nuuc.org for a different arrangement.

Pick-up: You can pick up your stuffed animal on Sunday, July 26, between 1 and 3 p.m. at the same place you dropped them off. Again, please stay in your car, and Rev. Ritchie will bring your stuffie to your car, in their bag. We recommend that you leave your stuffed animal in quarantine for a day or two when you get home (don’t worry, we’ll give them some snacks to tide them over until they get out of quarantine).
