A Retreat for the North Unitarian Universalist Congregation, Transcendentalist Style Saturday, June 9 9:30AM-3:30PM Where: Wilcox Farms*, 8100 Wells Road, Plain City OH 43064
Why should we live in such a hurry and waste of life?--Thoreau
Taking inspiration from Henry David Thoreau, Rev. Susan Ritchie will lead us on a day long spirituality retreat based on the mindful appreciation of nature. We will use informal worship, walking meditation, and group and individual exercises in imagination and inspiration to move through Thoreau’s central questions: How Do We Spend our Lives? How Do We Wake Up? How Do We Grow? And How, Then, Shall We Live?
An $8 fee payable at the retreat includes a picnic lunch and supplies. Please sign up in advance (NO later than Wednesday, June 6) on the bulletin board in fellowship hall, by calling the church office at 740-657-8081, or emailing RevRitchie@aol.com. *Becca

| May 20th is Music Sunday! Join us for an Exciting time as we celebrate the tradition of music in our congregation! There will be soloists from the choir (Kurt Zielenbach, Tom MacLaughlin, and Martha Folley) as well as vocalists and instrumentalists from the congregation (Lily and John Rodeheffer, flute duet; Michael Musilli, guitar solo; Nathan Hardin, piano; AmeliaPetras, voice.) Music Sunday is a wonderful showcasing of so much of the talent we have in our midst. Don't miss it, folks! |
The May meeting of Brown Bag Books will
be held on Wednesday, May 16 at 12:30 pm in Fellowship

| Exciting changes for Creativity Fellowship! After several years of some serious crafting and great conversation, Creativity Fellowship is going to make a few changes. We will meet on Wednesday, May 9 at 7:00 pm, then take a summer hiatus. Then, starting in September we will resume meeting on the 2nd Wednesdays at 7:00 pm, and we will have a guest crafter each month to teach a craft (i.e., quilting, knitting, soapmaking and scrapbooking). Of course, you can continue to bring a craft you are currently working on. Either way it's a great way to meet other members and feed that creative part of you. Questions? Call Teri Cornell 614-891-5935 or e-mail imuuteri@yahoo.com |
