Rev. Ritchie’s sermons now available as PodCasts! Subscribing will have each week’s sermon automatically downloaded into your mp3 software. You can subscribe directly through our webpage (go to www.nuuc.org, then hit the menu button ‘worship” then “past sermons”). As always, you can listen to or download audio files of sermons through the webpage, or request a CD of the entire worship service either by filling out the form on the bookcase immediately to your left as you enter Fellowship Hall from the sanctuary, or by phoning the office (740-657-8081).

Retreat to (Almost) Walden Pond A Retreat for the North Unitarian Universalist Congregation, Transcendentalist Style Saturday, June 9 9:30AM-3:30PM Where: Ruth & Gary Rusk's 1908 Lewis Center Rd, Lewis Center 43035.
Why should we live in such a hurry and waste of life?--Thoreau
Taking inspiration from Henry David Thoreau, Rev. Susan Ritchie will lead us on a day long spirituality retreat based on the mindful appreciation of nature. We will use informal worship, walking meditation, and group and individual exercises in imagination and inspiration to move through Thoreau’s central questions: How Do We Spend our Lives? How Do We Wake Up? How Do We Grow? And How, Then, Shall We Live?
An $8 fee payable at the retreat includes a picnic lunch and supplies. Please sign up in advance (NO later than Wednesday, June 6) on the bulletin board in fellowship hall, by calling the church office at 740-657-8081, or emailing RevRitchie@aol.com. |

The NUUC Choir performed its last song of the 2006-07 session on May 27 and will be on hiatus for the summer. Although the full choir will not perform at summer services, you can expect to see familiar faces offering live music every Sunday. Your favorite soloists and small ensembles are busily preparing music to enrich summer worship. Nathan Hamm is working on some special selections, and Marlene is pulling out old favorites on flute and guitar. Members of the congregation at large are also invited to share their musical skills. The full choir will return to the sanctuary on Ingathering, Sunday, September 9. We are always in search of new members for this dynamic group. For more information contact Choir Director Marlene Metz at marlenemetz@yahoo.com or 740-965-6894. |

“Finding Time and Other Delicacies” Join Rev. Susan Ritchie after worship (in Nielsen House) the 2nd and 4th Sundays of July and August for a casual book discussion group based on former UUA President William Schultz’s collection of short occasional pieces, “Finding Time and Other Delicacies” (out of print, but available used through most internet used book sites). We’ll use his essays to touch on spirituality, religious liberalism, theology, Unitarian Universalism, social justice, or wherever the essays take us. If you plan to attend, please sign up on the sheet on the bulletin board in Fellowship Hall, or by calling the church office (740-657-8081). |
