A note regarding Sunday morning nursery staffing – effective Sunday, July 10, the nursery will institute “summer hours” staffing of 10:15am to 11:45 am until Sunday, September 9.




FIRST FRIDAYS are back!
Join hosts Kristin and Scott Grimshaw for a family-friendly get-together at their home on Friday, July 6 from 6-8pm. Bring an appetizer to share, and byob if you like. RSVP on the signup sheet in Fellowship Hall or to Kristin Grimshaw at grimshaw@wowway.com or by phone at 614-840-1950.  The next First Friday will be Friday, September 7th (we need a volunteer to host this one)

“Finding Time and Other Delicacies”
Join Rev. Susan Ritchie after worship (in Nielsen House) the 2nd and 4th Sundays of July and August for a casual book discussion group based on former UUA President William Schultz’s collection of short occasional pieces, “Finding Time and Other Delicacies” (out of print, but available used through most internet used book sites). We’ll use his essays to touch on spirituality, religious liberalism, theology, Unitarian Universalism, social justice, or wherever the essays take us. If you plan to attend, please sign up on the sheet on the bulletin board in Fellowship Hall, or by calling the church office (740-657-8081).

The Brown Bag Books reading selection for July is The Lost: A Search for Six of Six Million by Daniel Mendelsohn. Please bring a lunch and join us on Wednesday, July 18 at 12:30 pm in Fellowship Hall. Click here to check out the book on Amazon.com. 

Lunch after church!

The NUUC Social committee is hosting a Potluck lunch on Sunday, July 22. Please bring a summer salad to share for a potluck salad buffet.  Drinks and dessert will be provided.  Due to limited refrigerator space, please consider bringing your salad in a cooler for storage during the service.  Sign up in Fellowship Hall.  If you have any questions please contact Kristin Grimshaw at grimshaw@wowway.com or 614-840-1950.  

The Membership Committee will hold the next of several “New to UU” Orientation sessions on Sunday, August 26 from 9AM-10AM at Nielsen House. Rev. Susan Ritchie and Eileen Watters will present information on the denomination’s (and our congregation’s) history and the meaning of membership. A New Member Sunday is planned for Sunday, September 16. If you or someone you know might be interested in membership, sign up to attend the Orientation on the sheet in Fellowship Hall, or contact Rev. Ritchie at 740-657-8081.
Reminder: the Social Action Committee’s Fair Trade sales are suspended for July and August; please plan to purchase delicious coffees & teas at the next sale date in September.
