Annual School Supply Drive

As in past years, the NUUC Social Action Committee is organizing an effort to provide school supplies for approximately 50 middle & high school youth who are served by the Delaware County Juvenile Probation Services. The following items are needed:

* Loose leaf notebook paper

* Pens (blue or black ink)

* Pencils

* Subject dividers/folders with pockets

* Index cards

* Protractors

* Compasses

* Spiral notebooks (5-subject and single-subject wide rule & college rule)

* BOOK BAGS (Everyone needs a book bag !!!)

A collection box for supplies will be at church until AUGUST 12^th. Please consider purchasing some of the items listed above or making a monetary donation. Checks should be written to NUUC; please write “school supplies” on the memo line. Contact Diane Mattox (at 614-898-5447 or 614-204-4184) with questions.

Enhanced Meijer Community Rewards Program to Benefit NUUC

If you shop at Meijer, you may have heard of their “Community Rewards” charitable giving program. Did you know NUUC is eligible to receive up to 1% of your expenditures at Meijer stores, including gas and convenience store purchases? Purchases made with a Meijer (red) store credit card or Meijer MasterCard earn the 1% reward rate. Additionally, purchases made with cash or a PIN -debit card will earn .5%. Existing Meijer credit cards holders can “link” the Rewards option to their current credit card by calling 1-800-962-7011. Cash or debit card users should request a “Meijer 1 Card” which must be swiped at check-out. “Meijer 1 Cards” are available by application or by visiting Meijer.com/rewards and following the on-line instructions; shoppers can also manage or view their accounts from the same online site. Meijer credit card applications and Meijer 1 Card applications are available in-store, or pick one up from the bulletin board display in Fellowship Hall.

IMPORTANT: In order for NUUC to receive credit for your purchases, you must reference our Meijer Community Rewards Organization No. 994116 when requested.

This is an easy, no-cost way to benefit NUUC by doing something you already do—purchase gas and groceries. Please make it a priority to sign up for the Rewards program; a few dollars here and there will add up more quickly than you think!
