As we approach Yom Kippur, it is customary to spend time in self-reflection and making amends with those we have harmed. What might we learn from this practice and what might repentance look like in a time of anthropogenic climate change, wildfires, and other disasters? Morgan Patten will explore how we might make amends while also recognizing the joy and abundance that persists in the world around us.

Join us at 10:30 AM for worship. Today, instead of coffee hour, we will have a picnic immediately after worship at John Young Park, which is a super quick drive from here adjacent to the Delaware Township Hall at 2590 Liberty Rd, Delaware, OH 43015. The picnic team will provide beverages and eating utensils to include paper plates and cups. Those attending are asked to bring a dish to share if you can, although please come even if you don’t have a dish. Since the shelter house is equipped to seat around 30 comfortably, it you have a folding lawn chair you could bring in case of overflow crowd, that would be lovely. Also, we are encouraging any musicians who would like to bring the instruments!

Attend in worship in person at the Barn at Stratford, or online (link provided below). We are worshiping at the Barn at Stratford while our building is under construction. The Barn at Stratford is operated by the Delaware County Historical Society. It is located just nine minutes from our church building, just South of Delaware in the community of Stratford. It is immediately north from the junction of routes 315 and 23. The address of the barn is 2690 Stratford Road, Delaware, OH 43015. While we will miss our beautiful building, the Barn provides a comfortable, historic temporary space that supports all of our regular Sunday morning activities. Please join us!
